Howdy

The second of my WIP, the M4 Tractor.
AFV Club M4 - High Speed Tractor. SAM_0254
Ive wanted to build one of these for ages and Ive also got the 155mm Long Tom to go with it.
Build is basically progressing at a sloooooooooooow rate, and I havent progressed far yet.

Next step will be to start on the weathering of the insides and engine area.

Thanks
Steve

Another follower... What a Face

Not sure why it is Steve but you seem to either click the post button more than once or there is a problem on the board, your posts seem to double and triple up, we'll keep an eye on it and see if it's the board.

Howdy chaps
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Couple of update pics on the Tractor

Bodywork is basically finished and weathering and washes have begun in ernest.
Ive started putting on the first layers of mud, (MiG pigments), and still have a few touch ups and things to do.

Im not going to be using the kit doors...
AFV Club M4 - High Speed Tractor. SAM_0269

They are supposed to be canvas, but they look like badly dented metal, and in scale, they are about 3 inches thick, but thick for canvas sheets.
So...heres one I made earlier Very Happy

Material of choice is tissue paper, the kind that flowers come in, this time from P n P..
This tissue paper is about the best, it has no embossing and takes to paint well, the only issue is it is very fragile. My top tip, use magic tape on the opposite side, cover the area you want to work ans hey presto, you can cut the paper without tearing or damaging it.
My doors are made this way, with tamiya tape around the window and zip covers. windows are from the polythene bag that the decals come in. Doors will be painted up khaki and weathered.
I also made a tilt cover for the ammo bay, just about visiblein the pics...

ok, more soon.

enjoy
Steve

They dont look too bad. certain better I think than the kit doors.
Trying to tackle the tracks now as well, horrible rubber band things, but they will do until i can get my hands on some linky ones.
Ill post some more piccies at the weekend.
